KU vs. UT, March 7, 2009

Last game of the regular season for the 2008-2009 KU Jayhawks! Greg Nunn invited me to join him, and we made a day out of it.

Attendees: Me, Greg (at game) Ryno, Brent (in different seats), Bart (Rick's)

Money spent: $65 (It was a long night, and I picked up as much of Greg's bar tab as possible, since he came through with the tickets) (It should be noted that Greg pulled an MVP move and bought the pizza at the end of the night!)

Adrometer rating: 2 (Adro knows me and Greg usually get pretty bombed when we go out)

Overall rating: 4 (Jayhawks make a come-from-behind victory to win the Big 12 outright, we had a great view from our seats, and a good, drunken time celebrating at Rick's afterwards.)

Man, what a game! Allen Fieldhouse got LOUD.

KU trailed for most of the game before getting it together with about ten minutes to go. Damion James for UT has 20 at half, but only... 8? in the second half.

Here's the box score.

After the game, we caught a ride with Ryno and Brent and went to Rick's. Me and Greg earlier had planned an on-foot pub crawl, but with bad weather threatening and a car ride available, we took advantage.

Rick's was a debacle! In a good way. The shots came early (thanks Ryno) and the beers were coming by frequently. By the end of the night, I was drunkenly playing shuffleboard against Bart and James Starkweather... Brent was my teammate. Bart kicked my ass in and let me know about it, because apparently I was talking trash.

After the pizzas (again, brilliant move Greg!) we (me, Greg, Bart) came back to my house and watched the KU national championship game. No more beers, we were pretty much exhausted by then... it was a good 8 hours in the bar, perhaps? No telling it gets hazy.

I ditched the guys after Evey threw up upstairs. Went upstairs to help out, then passed out in bed. Bart sent me a text message, "dude, bolted." I got it the next morning.

Had Greg to his sister's by 8 a.m. Big 12 Champs, five in a row! Some good celebrating that night, WOW.
