Just the other day I was going through the photos on Evey's blog; I was bummed that I hadn't taken her to a KU women's b-ball game in a long time. "Have to wait till next year," I thought to myself. The very next day, I see in the LJW that the KU women are still playing in the Women's NIT in Lawrence! It was meant to be, people!
Attendees: Adro, Evey, Judy, me.
Money spent: $35 ($19 on tix -- $5 a tick for adults, $4 for Evey; $16 at the gift shop -- T-shirt, sticker, flag)
Adrometer rating: 0 (She was with us, and she had a great time! She even said, and I quote, "I'm excited for the game!" That's my girl!
Overall rating: 4 (KU won, great seats, photo with Baby Jay, Evey was well behaved, even got a free slice of pizza!)
Great game, KU Lady Jayhawks! Onward in the WNIT! The game just ended a few hours ago, so the game story isn;t out yet, but... let's see... there's this. The women won by a score of 75-59. They looked really good at times.
It was some history in the making, that's the first time KU has made it to the 3rd round of the WNIT (ouch!).
Evey did great, she stood on my lap for almost the entire first half, and didn't get restless until late in the first half, but by then Judy volunteered to take her for a walk!
Adro had a great time, she enjoyed watching the action. She could have stayed for the whole game had it not been past Evey's bedtime, I think. She even gave me some postgame analysis: "They struggled when they tried to slow the game down, they'd just turn the ball over!" Hell yeah, babe!
Stopped by to see Ken and Lavera Moum before we left. Great seeing my old friend Moum again.
Also saw the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY, always good to see ya, my friend.
Bought a KU Soccer T ($5), a KU 2008 nat'l champions sticker ($2.50) and a 2008 champs flag for my car ($7).
Wore Evey out, Adro too, they both zonked out soon after getting home.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
